It’s been a long time. What can I say life and everything has been amazingly busy.

The commit events have become more than a one or few time thing. It now has blown up to a summer rally tour. we are excited to see what God has in store for it!

Will post more soon. Time to work now!

Last Wednesday

So much has been going on, this is the first time I have had a chance to comment on last Wednesday!

It was a tremendous night of worship. 4 more new believers. Lots of lives re-committed, and lots of positive things happening at the Faith youth group. We will be back there leading again this Wednesday, and expect God to show up strong again! Should be cool to see what God is doing with this…. little bit of a….. revival. I don’t like to use that word cause in many ways it’s thrown around too often, but this may be the start of something of those sorts . I pray it is. This atmosphere needs more of these things around here!

We participated in a Worship the Lord in Zion event Saturday at the Shiloh House in Zion IL – that was a nice little “burn” style meeting, God came there. Then we went to Java Jireh in Winthrop Harbor, IL to see Sean Feucht and that was another out pouring of God’s love, grace, healing, and favor. It went about an hour and a half past “scheduled time” but when God shows up that is what happens, our time is not HIS time . It was great to see Sean again.

Sunday AM – we led at Fellowship, and as always, it was really good. Never ceases to amaze me with how awesome the worship feels once the service starts there.. there is such a sweet aroma of worship that happens in there… very anointed place!

Looking ahead: April 26th – looking to get all youth we can up to Muckwonago, WI for Commit:09:Rally – info on the official web site as well as a flier. It’s for all youth junior high-college – and really any age… to equip and excite the generation to pursue deeper intimacy – through worship and teaching!

When it’s easier.

I have been noticing something as I lead worship at places. It seems that the leading has become more easy. Now I don’t mean it’s taken lighter or anything like that. Or it’s not prepared. Or it’s not practiced. I mean, it has just been easier to lead. Easier to hear what God wants and how He wants the service to go. It’s almost like before, I had to really try hard to focus on His leading me through the service, where now, it just goes easier, cause the focus is on Him more than ever before.

That’s not to say I have it all figured out at all. Cause I don’t. I’m just saying I personally can see the growth inside me over the last, say, year or so. It’s amazing how a mindset can change and from that other things change. Depending less on “stuff” or what guitar I have (I went through several guitars) and more on what does God want? I let the things I can’t control bother me less – such as sound issues, who we have playing with us, if its just myself or emily and I, etc. I used to always want more and louder and this and that. Now I’ve learned that letting go and letting Him choose all that – things end up that much better. You can connect in worship that much easier, and from that the worship is THAT much POWERFUL. And guess what, you did LESS to get it there. He did MORE. So basically before I was doing more of trying to manufacture the worship. Which yes it is good to have excellence and develop things, but you should be doing that as HE leads, not just to try and take things into your own hands – which I can say I still am guilty of sometimes. Being the silly human I am. However I do wish for less of me during worship. Simply would like to be used in His will as He sees fit, cause I have a good feeling He kinda knows what is best for me… .

As for the guitar thing that I mentioned… a tell-tale part here… about a year or so ago I was going through guitar after guitar. I had a nice Taylor 712 from 1991 that I had for a while, but the 2nd guitar – wow – I went through what seemed like 25 or so over the 3 years prior. Then finally I found a modest 1996 612c Cottonwood. It’s nothing fancy – just a nice solid guitar. RIght about then is when things clicked. I was more worried about the guitars I had than what I can do to improve my knowledge of Him – which would then improve my worship leading skills. So I decided that was it. I have had those two guitars now close to a year or so. And that is all I wish to do guitar wise – cause as long as the guitar is decent – that is all that matters. Its all in the heart condition and where your mindset lies. Now that I have finally moved past that idol (guitars) I think its been a big step toward better leading worship – and one reason where I am today.

Funny how little thing can get in the way of a deeper intimacy and deeper walk… and deeper worship leading. Just strip it away and make it easier.

Xtreme Teen Youth group at Faith… extended worship night.

Come and seek the face of the Father and let Him overflow your cups!!

I really feel something great is going to happen Wednesday night as we lead… God has been moving in this youth group – we led there last week.. and it was good… but only a vision of what is to come. You could just sense it…. building…. into something more.. and I think this week it will explode in awesome ways in the lives of the youth and anyone in the room. If you can make it, please do, I feel it will be a great experience. If you can’t, please throw up some prayers to cover the night, cover the musicians, cover Pastor Keith as he speaks from the Truth, cover the kids so they may HEAR and SEE!!! Come Lord! OVERFLOW!!!!

So The River Church in Delevan was awesome today. God showed up and things went very well! The host family we stayed at (The Graf’s)- were really fun and we had a great time with them. Last night we stayed up really late talking and laughing – was truly fun to be in God’s JOY!

The service was great! We had a set of this:

The flow was really good today… at the end of the first set (after Heart of Worship) we did a couple parts of (x) I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You – yes, THAT one….. we sung it as a love song to our AWESOME KING AND SAVIOR! (Thanks to Adam Cates showing me that and teaching me that… it really is awesome to throw in a worship service!). (y) Calling is an original song that will be track #9 off of the upcoming CD “Longing For More” – it was a very good day worship-wise. The message was great, the people were great, the relationships were great. Considering it was Emliy, Matt Lucci (drums), and I – for something simple it was really full sounding.

God blessed our time and our travels as we look forward to Wednesday night… at Faith Community Church in Racine… youth group – we are doing an all out intense worship night… should be really good, pray for me to be able to line up a bassist and sound guy to really make the excellence part of the worship, well, more excellent!

Here we are in Delevan for tomorrow morning service leading. We got to set up sound check and rehearse this evening and we look forward to the AM!

We pray God shows Himself strong in the morning and really uses us for His plan and glory!

Here is a picture from the inside of the church – The River Church in Delevan -it used to be an old theatre that they restored and as you can see is a sweet venue for His glory!!!

Rush of Busy.

I am blessed, I want to start by saying that. To have a job that is solid. To have a job where some weeks I have to work an extra 6th day. I feel very blessed. However you mix 6 days of work with trying to get a bedroom done (full restore) – yea, doesn’t work so well… haha. So can I really complain? I don’t think so. But I would like a nice solid night of sleep in my bed again… . Target completion is this weekend now, and it really looks great. Funny how things tend to always take longer than we think…. just like the Restore post… its a journey that you never know what you are going to find behind some parts, faulty wiring, needs to be fixed for instance. If you don’t fix that – what’s the point of remodeling? The house will burn down and you will have nothing left! AAAH!!! There was an outlet, where they used SPEAKER WIRE – yes SPEAKER WIRE – to wire the outlet…. the bare copper part of the wire was exposed…. lightly covered by electrical tape that was clearly not sealed right…. so in all the trouble and extra time it takes, doesn’t it feel good when you take the time and do things right the first time…. I mean really take time to take pride in what you do and really do a great job being careful to details? I think the Lord wants that from us. To be really solid in how we go about restoring ourselves for Him. How we go about checklisting what what we need to change in our lives and how to change it. Don;t just rush into anything, but do it right – the FIRST time, cause then you won’t have to backtrack and do steps 3-6 or whatever over again in the future. You can keep pressing forward. This project upstairs is quite a teaching tool, man alive…. haha.

Our CD is ready to be printed. Brian did an awesome job on the mix. Now we just need to raise about $1500 to print it and get this baby out there to open doors and break down strongholds.
